The Fullness World Of A Diamond Ring
The son of a friend who has lived in Tel Aviv with his girlfriend for eight years recently approached me to purchase an engagement ring and this is his story:

“When I decided to propose to my girlfriend, I went to a number of jewelry stores to buy an engagement ring. Quickly did I realize that I had come across an industry I did not understand. Every store I go to, presents me with beautiful diamond rings. In one of the stores, when the seller saw I was undecided because of the high prices; she offered to give me a 30% discount.”
I thought, it is easier for me to buy a car from a car dealer, where I have an option to get the car inspected by an unbiased party, than it is to buy a diamond already set in a ring. In the case of the diamond ring I just have to take the sellers word in regards to the diamonds weight, and all the other parameters that determine the high price of the ring.”
The problem was solved after his father referred him to me. He received an explanation from me and got the chance to see all the diamonds before they were set in a ring. I was able to explain the reason for the difference in price between two identical diamonds from two different sellers. One of the goldsmiths we work with made him a white gold band per his preference.
The diamond ring was to the complete satisfaction of the young man. Later he sent me a picture of the exciting moment when he took out the ring to propose to his girlfriend.
