The world has already seen several large diamonds, but the fate of any record is to be broken. Recently, Africa’s biggest diamond in the past 100 years has been found. The stone reaches the size of 1,111 carats and is of high quality. In fact, it is the second largest diamond in the world, only to be surpassed when the famous Cullinan Diamond was found in 1905 in South Africa, which was given as a gift to the then king of England, Edward VII.

Botswana is currently the second largest diamond exporter in the world (second only to Russia).

It is among 10 countries that produce the most diamonds possible for the majority of African
states;

  • Congo,
  • South Africa,
  • Angola,
  • Namibia.

These in addition to countries that are on other continents – Australia, Canada and Brazil.
